Your child identified as a gifted student - the student has a Gifted IEP - and you characterize yourself as sort-of
satisified with your child's gifted education. You realize that that there is more to learn about the 'gifted education
system' and you would like to inform yourself about that system.
Parents in this category believe that things are going
'okay', but would like to be sure whether or not things are actually that way. To know that you must educate yourself about
the basics of gifted education. This knowledge allows you to understand your role in the process, what options you have
to help your gifted child, how to help the Gifted IEP team plan your child's gifted education. It takes all
of about 20-30 minutes to do that.
Please read the material linked below, then read your child's Gifted IEP, particularly the
Present Levels section.
If you have any questions now that you have read the basics for yourself, check back here to see how
to apply what you have just learned during your child's Gifted IEP meetings.
